Unox S.p.A, market leader in high-end oven production and certified as one of the 100 best places to work in Europe, is looking for someone with an engineering or physics background a Food Digitalization Scientist to join our Research and Development Team.
Main responsibilities- Continuous experimental research: manage research projects with a strong practical lab component. Test, cook, and analyze samples to understand the physics of food under thermal stress.
- Definition of measurement protocols: develop scientific methodologies to quantify characteristics such as texture, color, and humidity, creating numerical benchmarks to test oven performance.
- Technical support and troubleshooting: resolve complex cooking challenges both in the field and in the lab, identifying the physical causes behind suboptimal results through direct testing.
- Performance validation: transform visible food defects into engineering improvement indices, ensuring result repeatability through the analysis of thermodynamic phenomena.
Requirements- Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Food Industry Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics
- Strong experimental aptitude for laboratory activities involving frequent field testing
- A solid foundation in thermodynamics, chemistry, and fluid mechanics
- Proficiency in using laboratory instrumentation and a strong aptitude for modeling physical phenomena
