The "Despina” patisserie and its famous Millefeuille cake were born in the State of Zaire, today the Democratic Republic of Congo. In this far-away country Mrs. Despina Roullia and her husband produced "Roullia” biscuits.
The delicious Millefeuille soon became a much loved favourite for both Greeks and Africans.
This famous cake has helped ensure the success of the patisserie for over 15 years since the Despina family decided to return to their Greek origins.
THE FIRST DESPINA PATISSERIE IN ATHENS.
In 1987 Mrs. Despina’s dream became a reality as she opened her first patisserie in the Northern suburbs of Athens - an instant hit! The Millefeuille cake is still the best seller and with nine shops already open Despina continues to grow with plans for further expansion in the future.
The Despina Family.
Today the younger generation of the Despina family has taken over the reins. The three Despina children, Giorgios, Tetta and Lucas, have continued the project originally created by their mother by opening patisseries in strategic points of Athens.
